Augustinians: Pilgrims of Hope

Augustinians: Pilgrims of Hope
The High School Department, under the supervision of the VE–CLE Area, organized a pilgrimage to four Jubilee Churches last November 13, 2025. Fifty-three students participated in the pilgrimage, accompanied by six high school teachers, with Fr. Julian C. Mazana, OSA, the High School Principal, serving as the Pilgrimage Chaplain.
The pilgrims visited the following Jubilee Churches:
• St. John Bosco Parish, Makati – the Jubilee Church for artists, musical bands, and athletes;
• National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe – the Jubilee Church for Ecumenical and Interfaith initiatives;
• San Felipe Neri Parish, Mandaluyong – the Jubilee Church for youth, teenagers, and students. It was here that the pilgrims celebrated the Holy Mass, presided over by Fr. Mazana;
• Royal and Conciliar San Carlos Seminary – the Jubilee Church for bishops, priests, deacons, seminarians, religious, and missionaries.
In each Church, parish workers warmly welcomed the pilgrims, sharing insights about the Church and its patron. Afterwards, the students spent time in prayer, offering their intentions. Of course, the visit to each Church would not be complete without a commemorative photo.
Truly, the pilgrimage gave the students a moment of prayer, reflection, and encounter with God. They returned home filled with hope and renewed in their faith and fervor for the Lord.
“To go on a pilgrimage is not simply to visit a place to admire its treasures of nature, art or history. To go on a pilgrimage really means to step out of ourselves in order to encounter God where he has revealed himself, where his grace has shone with particular splendor and produced rich fruits of conversion and holiness among those who believe.”
— Pope Benedict XVI
